A Prayer of Repentance and Rest in the Lord

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ
We come before You together, not hiding and not pretending.
We acknowledge that the burden of sin, shame, and striving has become heavy, and we are tired.

Lord, we confess that at times we have tried to carry what You never asked us to carry.
We have relied on our own strength, our own understanding, and our own efforts instead of resting in You.
We confess sins of thought, word, and action both what we have done and what we have failed to do.

We bring before You our fear, our guilt, our weariness, and our brokenness.
We lay down pride, self-reliance, bitterness, unforgiveness, and hidden sin at the foot of the cross.
We do not excuse our sin, but we trust Your mercy is greater than it.

Jesus, thank You that You invited the weary and burdened to come to You.
Thank You that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light.
We receive Your forgiveness, not because we deserve it, but because You are faithful and just.

Holy Spirit, teach us how to rest in the Lord.
Help us stop striving for approval and begin living from acceptance.
Renew our hearts, quiet our minds, and restore our souls.

Father, create in us clean hearts and steady spirits.
Help us walk in humility, repentance, and grace toward one another.
Let our lives be shaped not by guilt, but by gratitude and love.

We choose to trust You.
We choose to rest in You.
We receive Your peace, Your forgiveness, and Your renewing grace.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
