My daughters, G and M, are 21 and 18 years old. For 7 years, my oldest has been influenced by society and her school to believe she was born in the wrong body. My youngest daughter looks up to her sister and has followed suit. I am a newly formed Catholic for about 4 years and was misguided in the past to believe if I didn’t affirm their choices, they would be suicidal. Trying desperately to help them, at first, I believed that supporting them was the right choice. Now that my husband and I are active in the church, we realize how mistaken we were. They are planning to move out of the house soon, and I fear they both plan to chemically and surgically transition after leaving. Neither have faith in God and the more I try to engage the conversation, the further away they push. Please pray over their hearts and souls that they are able to see His love and to thirst for salvation. Please pray they know that they are perfect in His image. And please pray that my husband and I have grace and patience in the matter. Thank you kindly for any prayers lifted.
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up MaryM, her husband, and their daughters, G and M. Lord, You created them fearfully and wonderfully in Your image, with purpose and love. We ask that You soften G and M’s hearts, open their eyes to Your truth, and draw them back to You. Let them thirst for Your presence and know that their identity is secure in You alone.
Father, we also ask for grace, wisdom, and patience for MaryM and her husband. Strengthen them in faith as they navigate this difficult season. Let their love be a reflection of Yours, unwavering and full of truth. Guide their words and actions, that they may plant seeds of faith in their daughters’ hearts. Lord, we trust that no one is beyond Your reach. Work in this family, restore what is broken, and let Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
