Dear Lord God, Creator of all things, in whose image we are made, hear my prayer for healing. You know I have tried very hard to effect a healing to an inguinal hernia (now two - one large on one side and one very small on the other), by diet and exercise. The highs and the lows, hopes raised and then dashed, I admit defeat and am now faced with an operation which I do not want to have and of which I have great misgivings.
I followed the advice in James 5:13-16, was anointed by an elder only after having to agree to declare that I would not have an operation and indeed in faith I agreed and cancelled my next appointment. I also confessed my sins (stumblings) to another believer. (James 5:16)
But time has passed and I still have the hernias, one of which is quite debilitating and potentially hazardous. The strain on my family is tangible and I either continue to suffer an anguish of at times despair or have an operation, of which I have great misgivings. Please deliver me from this fiery trial in the glory and grace of your eternal name, Lord Jesus - heal me.
Your will be done.
