For My Family - May 20th, 2026

Dear Lord,
I am a Catholic girl who recently turned 12 years old and received her First Holy Communion. There has recently been lots of family drama and arguments in our household, and my father was also diagnosed with lung cancer last year. Ever since then, we have started attending Mass every Sunday and participated in prayer as a family. My younger sister and I are both part of our children’s church choir, and our family just loves church in general. It is the sort of thing that brings us together - making sure that God unites us when hard times strike. However, I am quite worried about my parents’ health. Just like I said before, my dad is not yet safe from the danger that his cancer condition brings, and my mother is mentally not feeling well recently - I feel like she is really depressed and needs the help of the Lord. I humbly ask all of you to pray for our family in the name of our Lord.
Thanks so much - may the Lord bless all of you!

Dear sweet friend in Christ,

Thank you for sharing your heart. The love you have for your family and for God at just 12 years old is very beautiful. The Lord sees your tears, your worries about your dad’s cancer, and your concern for your mom’s sadness, and He holds all of you very close to His Heart.

Let me pray with you:

Heavenly Father,

I lift up this precious Catholic girl, her sister, her father, and her mother to You in the name of Jesus. You know every detail of their pain and every fear in their hearts. Lord, You are the Divine Physician and the source of all comfort and peace.

I pray especially for her father who is battling lung cancer. Lord Jesus, stretch out Your healing hand upon him. Guide his doctors, strengthen his body, and calm his mind. May Your holy will be done, and may Your presence fill him with courage, hope, and deep trust in You.

I pray for her dear mother, who is feeling so overwhelmed and depressed. Holy Spirit, enter her heart and mind with Your light. Chase away the darkness, the sadness, and the fear. Remind her that she is loved, that she is not alone, and that You are walking with her through this valley. Surround her with people who will support, encourage, and care for her.

I pray for this young girl and her sister. Lord, protect their hearts. Give them strength, peace, and the grace to continue to sing for You in the church choir. Let their voices and their faith be a light in their home. May their family’s love for the Mass, for prayer, and for the Church be a source of unity and healing in these difficult times.

Mother Mary, please wrap this family in your mantle. Intercede for them before your Son, Jesus. St. Joseph, protector of families, watch over this home and shield them from despair and discouragement.

Lord, bless this family with restored health, renewed hope, and deeper faith. May they feel Your presence every day and know that You are holding them gently in Your hands.

In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.

Please remember that you and your family do not have to walk through this alone. If you or your parents are in need of additional support or assistance, you can visit this foundation’s website for help and resources:

May God bless you and your family abundantly, strengthen you in every trial, and fill your home with His peace.

With prayers and love in Christ
