Dear God, please, please, I beg of you, let the doctor appointment go as well as divinely possible tomorrow for my husband. Please let his tongue cancer be localized and as minimal as possible. Please let the doctor be extremely knowledgeable and experienced with this type. Please let the surgery and treatment be successful with minimal change, if any, to his tongue and the ability to eat food again. Please let him recover and go on to live a long, fulfilling, and happy life. He’s had such a hard life, beginning with an alcoholic parent when he was a young child, a sister who took her life when he was just 14, another sister who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and institutionalized when he was a teenager, having colorectal cancer in his early 20s, a wife he caught being unfaithful, and almost 20 years of severe chronic back pain and the inability to work. He’s suffered enough in life. When I first met him 35 years ago, he told me that he’s born again and that he loves Jesus; his faith has continued to grow. In recent years, he’s created a Facebook message almost every day, sometime multiple times a day, trying to bring people to you. He feels this is his calling in life. Please be with him, and me, helping us to be brave and calm, to be able to understand what the doctor tells us, and may the path forward be as easy as it possibly can. This is the most scared I’ve ever been in my life. Watching him hold his head in severe pain and sobbing makes me wish this was happening to me. Please have my husband beat this so he may continue trying to bring people to you. Please let us have a renewed and loving relationship, the way it used to be. Please give him the ability to enjoy his life in less pain so he can go to dinner, a movie, take a ride, etc. Again, I beg of you. In Jesus’ name.
I am lifting your husband up in prayer right now, asking God for His healing power, comfort, and peace over your family. May the Lord strengthen his body, calm his mind, and give you endurance and hope in this difficult season.
