Please God, more now than ever, make your presence known to my husband in the most frightening time of his life. Please help him be calm and brave. Please, please let the scans show the cancer is localized and no place other than in his tongue and let it be as minimal as possible. Please let the surgery and treatments be successful. Please let him be able to eat solid food again and please keep his ability to taste the same as in the past. Please let his ability to talk return to what it was. Please don’t let his ability to swallow change. Please keep him cancer free for the rest of his life. Please give him a chance to get the mental help he needs to overcome his anger and distorted thinking. Please give us a chance to rekindle what was once a beautiful relationship. Please also help me be strong for him. I feel so, so very scared and sad. Please help us. In Jesus’ name.
