Please pray for my marriage. My wife Sharon and I have been separated for six months. I want to reconcile, but Sharon has requested that I proceed with divorce paperwork. Sharon is currently unwilling to meet in person, sharing that she will only “keep discussions in a written word format and will not engage in any dynamic in which you can manipulate me further.” When asked to pray together, she shared, “we prayed together many times and that did not stop you from abusing me.” Though she remains “open to God’s leadership,” her conviction is that “my abuse invalidates our marriage.” I take full ownership and am deeply repentant of my transgressions in our marriage, doing everything I can to walk in humility and true repentance. Please pray that God moves in both of our hearts, breaks down walls, and leads Sharon to agree to an in-person session with a mediator of her choice so we can seek God’s will together.
