Prayers for Stress at Work/Finding Supplemental Employment

I’m very anxious about this upcoming work week. I’m the coordinator of one of the busiest programs of the year which opens Wednesday. In addition, I have case reviews and employee performance reviews I have to complete this month. I’m just worried about getting it all done. Work has been extra stressful since our management team changed in the spring. I feel like everything is looked under a microscope now. It makes me want to count down the days until retirement, which is not for another 17 years. I made a mistake of giving one of my subordinates the wrong information last week and was made to feel bad about it by my supervisor. I was taking a pain medication and believe it affected my concentration. I’ve not been feeling myself.

I’m also trying to earn some supplemental income to help support my wife and I. She’ll be applying for disability for the second time after the new year. I’m having trouble finding flexible, remote work I could do in the evenings or on the weekends.

Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this person to You with a sincere and trusting heart. You see the weight he is carrying and the pressure he feels at work. I ask that You calm his anxiety, steady his thoughts, and give him the strength and clarity he needs for this busy week and all the responsibilities before him. Surround him with Your peace, confidence, and favor, and help him not to fear the scrutiny of others but to rest in Your guidance. Heal his body, sharpen his focus, and remind him that even when he makes mistakes, Your grace covers him.

Lord, I also pray for his desire to provide for his wife and for the supplemental income he is seeking. Open doors that fit his needs, schedule, and abilities. Let the right opportunity come into his life with ease and certainty. I lift up his wife as well, asking for Your mercy and favor as she applies for disability again. Let the process be smooth and successful. Strengthen their marriage, their finances, and their spirits. Father, bless him for his honesty and his faith. Carry him through each day with Your presence, and let him feel Your love holding him steady. Amen.
