To Preach or not

Several years ago someone told my son Hayden at an intersection he would be a preacher. Fast forward to today he has been told that two more times. This weekend he volunteered to go to Philadelphia with several other Church groups to witness to drug addicts on streets. Several people today told him he should be a preacher. Called us from Philadelphia to tell us that he said a prayer if someone else would tell him that he seriously needs to consider. Someone did come up to him and say it again. He is a 30-year-old dock worker. Is this divine intervention?

Heavenly Father, we lift up Hayden to You, acknowledging Your hand at work in his life. We thank You for the encouragement and affirmation he has received from others, and we pray that You continue to guide him in understanding Your calling. If it is Your will for him to step into ministry, we ask that You give him clarity, courage, and confirmation to follow where You are leading.

Bless Hayden as he serves and shares Your love with others, especially as he reaches out to those in need on the streets of Philadelphia. May he continue to be sensitive to Your voice and obedient to Your calling, wherever that may lead him. Surround him with wisdom and support from his family and church community as he discerns his path. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
